Panel members

Alan Chalmers 
Publisher of Funds Europe

Alan is a qualified chartered accountant, involved in publishing for 20 years. He co-founded Funds Europe in 2002 while he was managing director of Union Press Limited from 2001 until 2007.

He was managing director of Harper Trade Journals Limited for five years from 1996. Previously he was commercial adviser to Lipper Analytical Europe, publisher of The European Fund Directory, and a director of Professional and Business Information Plc, publisher of the UK Fund Industry Directory.

Nicolas Plowman
Partner at Ogier

Nicholas Plowman is the founding member of Ogier's Hong Kong office and head of its investment funds practice. He is labelled an "excellent lawyer" by clients and has significant experience assisting clients on BVI and Cayman law aspects of fund formation and investment, and corporate matters including IPOs and take-private acquisitions. 

He acts for a wide variety of Asian fund managers in the private equity, long only and hedge fund space.

His clients represent some of the more sophisticated and respected fund managers in Asia. Nick was named one of the top 10 offshore lawyers in Asia by Asian Legal Business in its Offshore Client Choice List 2016.

Christine Lin
Partner at Ernst & Young

Christine Lin joined Ernst & Young Hong Kong in 1997 and has over seven years of experience serving clients in the financial services industry.  

She has led numerous engagement teams in providing audit services for investment funds and investment management companies.

Jiffry Chandra
Managing Partner, CIO at Transasia Capital

Jiffry Chandra is the CIO of TransAsia. Prior to founding TransAsia, he was one of the three Managing Partners of Income Partners Asset Management (HK) Limited, the renowned Asian debt asset manager. 

Mr. Chandra spent 15 years at Income Partners, managing private capital, structured investments and credit hedge funds. Mr. Chandra also has extensive investment banking and capital markets experience prior to joining Income Partners as a special situations analyst in 1998. 

He held a senior Debt Capital Markets position at ING Barings and was a member of the DCM team at Chase that originated and structured some of the earliest high yield corporate debt in Asia. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Chandra was an analyst at Salomon Brothers’ Finance and Treasury department in New York. 

Udit Gambhir
SGG Asia

Udit Gambhir, is the Managing Director for SGG Asia. He leads SGG’s strategy for Singapore, Hong Kong, India and the broader Asian region from Singapore. 

Udit has more than 12 years of experience in hedge funds and private equity. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from FW Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a Bachelor of Science from Bentley University; both in Massachusetts, USA.
