Alan Chalmers 
Publisher of Funds Europe

Alan is a qualified chartered accountant, involved in publishing for 20 years. He co-founded Funds Europe in 2002 while he was managing director of Union Press Limited from 2001 until 2007.

He was managing director of Harper Trade Journals Limited for five years from 1996. Previously he was commercial adviser to Lipper Analytical Europe, publisher of The European Fund Directory, and a director of Professional and Business Information Plc, publisher of the UK Fund Industry Directory.

Serge Krancenblum
CEO of SGG Group

In his role, Serge ensures that the organization has the capacity and clarity to deliver on its global mandate: client service excellence, sustainable growth, and efficiency, across all of its offerings.

Throughout his career, Serge has deepened his expertise in developing and managing transnational solutions for institutional investors, multinational corporations and entrepreneurial families. He is recognized for his leadership throughout the financial industry, and is frequently invited to speak at local, national and international events. He also sits as an Independent Director on the boards of several real estate and private equity funds, as well as on those of selected listed and private companies.

Serge is also the Chairman of the Investment Facilitation Forum, a platform for organisations involved in investment facilitation at a global level.  

Martijn Schoonewille
Partner of Loyens & Loeff

Martijn Schoonewille, attorney at law, is a member of the Banking & Finance practice group. He specialises in advising financial institutions – including banks, investment firms, fund managers, custodians, trading platforms and insurers – on legal and financial regulatory aspects of their businesses and transactions in the Netherlands and, where relevant, the continental European markets. In addition, Martijn acts as counsel to financial institutions, investors and companies in a variety of public and private debt offerings and alternative financing structures. With a background in Corporate/M&A, Martijn was seconded in 2008 to an investment bank. From the beginning of 2010 to the end of 2012 he was based in Loyens & Loeff’s London office.

Martijn lectures frequently on financial regulatory topics at Dutch universities and is an editorial member of Rechtspraak Financieel Recht. He is also a member of the Dutch Association for Financial Law.

Boudewijn Rooseboom
Founder & Managing Partner of Cyber Capital

After completing my Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Amsterdam in 2003, it took me 11 months and 43,000 kilometer to drive my motorcycle from Tierra del Fuego – the southernmost tip of South America – to Alaska. I then moved to Brazil, where I set up the company Stonerose Property that developed social housing projects. During my ten year stay in Brazil I gained a lot of experience with overseas investments, having to arrange for structure, taxation and legislation for both Brazil and The Netherlands.

Michiel van Deursen
Managing Director of The Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce

Michiel van Deursen is the Director of NBCC (Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce) for over 14 years. In addition to the responsibilities to the team, he is accountable for the NBCC total financial result and the way in which we serve our members' interests. NBCC co-operate with the Dutch and British government and numerous trade associations. The NBCC considers itself to be a specialist in Anglo-Dutch trade promotion with special focus on sectors such as oil and gas, renewables and construction, areas in which it has delivered many activities.

Gerhard Grueter
Managing Director of Lawson Conner

Gerhard Grueter is the co-founder and Managing Director of Lawson Conner. He has strong background in alternative funds, both as an advisor and as a principal investor in liquid and illiquid asset classes. Gerhard is the former Vice President in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and former Partner at Ironshield Capital and is a frequent panelist and speaker at hedge fund conferences. He is the author and co-author of a number of industry publications and holds an MBA in Finance from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
